The old English proverb - Softly Softly Catchy Monkey - means that if do not rush or if you avoid being too hasty, then eventually you will achieve your goal - in other words, be patient.

This feels like such a good idiom for my life, especially when it comes to art. I couldn't just decide one day to be a successful artist - this, like so many things in life, takes time. If I slowly, patiently, work my way towards my goal, hopefully one day I will catch my monkey!
